Bringing clarity and a framework to our marketing endevours
This is a story all about an amazing engineering company based in the North East of England and who make a mark across the world in the process safety sector. This story is all about their journey in marketing and what led them to get involved in new training, what impact it made and how they felt afterwards.
We’d love to introduce you to Nick, Managing Director at 6 Engineering and Andrew, who is Business Growth Manager. From their base in North Yorkshire, 6 Engineering work worldwide within the major hazard industries to provide process safety consulting, or in Nick’s words:
“to make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day”.
6 Engineering booked a marketing strategy fundamentals workshop which was held at their office, providing an opportunity for the team to dedicate a full morning to personal and team development and training.
Before the training took place, Nick, Andrew and the team at 6 Engineering wanted to develop a marketing plan for their business. At that time, they didn’t understand what marketing looked like for them, other than appreciating that the occasional post on LinkedIn and dabbling with SEO wasn’t really generating the results they wanted.
They were really driven to develop the skills of the team and knew that there was a real synergy to be had between developing the team and gaining market knowledge. What was super important for Nick and the team was to have more clarity around the results and impact that a marketing led culture and clear plan could generate.
On the day of the training, 6 engineering were really open to looking at the idea of a support structure for their marketing and they loved the idea of a framework which would connect what they were doing operationally with both sales and marketing. The team felt really empowered to find a straightforward way to organize their activities, whilst supporting the wider business objectives.
Nick remarked after the training that: “The course delivered exactly what I wanted for my business: a simple but effective structure for managing and organising what we already do, and identifying what we don’t do currently but should.”
Since then, 6 Engineering are well and truly “on the button”. Andrew said “The Marketing Performance Framework(TM) is a straightforward, coherent, effective, informative, sustainable, empowering, efficient tool to help SMEs take charge of their own marketing activities.
It has brought order and clarity to our marketing endeavours and given us a framework to create the policies, procedures, and materials we need to maintain or modify our approach as the market evolves.”
